Hi all
First of all thank you for this program; it came as a heaven sent when remastersys didn't work in xenial. This is using Pinguybuilder on Ubuntu Xenial Gnome Flashback.
I've had mostly successes and just a few failures with the program and came to some ideas why it failed.
One reason was to have gaps in file names. So I created shortcuts with the no-gap name.
One peculiar situation was when PinguyBuildert un-installed various applications like: google earth, oomox. libdvd-pkg, ndiswrapper-source, alien etc..
It turned out that they all had a common denominator, a dependency: linux-libc-dev
The version available from the repos follows the standard kernel version for 16.04
which is at 4.4.0-116. I did try another kernel 4.8 and had removed version 4.4.
This discrepancy made Pinguybuilder want to uninstall above mentioned applications.
It never happens when the kernel and linux-libc-dev have the same version number.
So now I'm using the HWE version which is 4.13.0-36. I found the matching linux-libc-dev file elsewhere, installed it and Pinguybuilder is happy again.
My question is:
Why does the version number have to match and in what situation would this become obvious but which doesn't show now?
