i am not sure what the problem is or how to fix it.happens in my install and when running live disk.
when i open anything, opera, chromium, firefox, file manager, thunderbird, etc.i dont get full screen when i am running 1 monitor.i use dvi port for connection.
if i use dvi and hdmi the conky thing on the desktop moves over to my second screen on hdmi and then i have full screen on my main monitor and my second monitor, but if i disconnect my hdmi and am running 1 monitor i have a 1inch gap at the top and a 1-1/2 gap on the right side of anything i open.i dont run both monitors and dont run the hdmi so this is an ongoing problem that i cant get fixed.
system config:
ubuntu 14.04(pinguyos14.04)64 bit
ab350 fatil1ty gaming k4
ryzen 5 1500x 8core@3500mhz
16gb ddr4 memory@3200mhz
10 harddrives-pinguyos installed on hitachi 1tb.
nvidia gt750TI video card 2gb gddr5-1360x768(cant get higher)
20" sanyo led monitor connected using dvi(when running single monitor-my preferrence is single monitor)
38" samsung led as second monitor on hdmi(when watching shows only)
i have totally reconfigured many times and then finally removed conky in an attempt to get rid of whatever is holding everything in something like a container.
my wallpaper and desktop is fullscreen but anything i open has the gap at top and right.i dont use your monitoring tool on the screen and want to get rid of it but cant find anything on how to remove it.
is there a version of pinguyos that doesnt have the system monitor thing included on my desktop?how can i get rid of it completely?some people might like it but i find it completely annoying.
i read some of the posts and saw people talking about no full screen for videos and other specific stuff but for me its anything i open on my screen while running just 1 dvi connected monitor.
as i said already,if i connect and run both monitors the system monitor thing automatically goes over to my secondary monitor to the right and my main monitor will open everything full screen without the gaps, but as soon as i disconnect the second monitor the gaps reappear when the system monitor thing automatically comes back to my main screen.
in linuxmint i have fullscreen,in win10x64 i have fullscreen,in plain ubuntu i have fullscreen.i cant stand not having full screen for my apps.
any help getting this issue resolved will be appreciated,if this system monitor thing doesnt have anything to do with it then maybe someone can tell me how to get rid of that too.i dont want it on my screen and wish there was a version of pinguy that didnt have it.
i have pinguy installed on hdrive and have tried it running live disk, there is no way i have found to get rid of it,i dont have the 2nd monitor running and have uninstalled conky but there is still a container like box that everything opens in and thats what the issue is.
I have a screenshot.
Im new to pinguyos, well sorta.i been using it for a few months now.
screenshot included to avoid confusion.
