Live USB 18.04 won't boot on Macbook 13 " late 2010

Hi all,

I am new to Pinguy and I wondered if there is a way to make it run on my Macbook which has 8 GB Ram and a 250 GB SSD.
THe USB installer starts its work, the splash screen shows up - somewhere along the line changes to black with the cursor on the lower right - then the cursor disappears - and shows a prompt sign on the upper left - and seems to go into a loop.

Any idea how this can be fixed?
