these guys have done an amazing job of making a slick, fast, ubuntu long term support based lxde spin, AND most importantly in my humble opinion, they keep the apps updated with community maintained repos, and lots of additional repos added too.
if you love pinguy os and lxde, you should check out lxle, it's like pinguy os if pinguy os was an lxde based distro. very fast, very stable, preloaded with lots of great software, and by far the most beautiful lxde desktop i've seen to date.
the new version is called paradigm because you can make lxde sort of resemble, gnome 2, winxp, unity, etc. VERY nice out of the box experience, and a must have if you want to install an easy to use linux for friends or family that you don't need to touch for a long time since the apps and the whole system stay up to date in their repos.
still, it would be nice to have the cool pgos touches like pre-configured samba and firefox bookmarks (sadly now dropped in the latest pgos, wtf?), and the conky tool. lxde has a very basic conky, and in the panel, a trash can, a quick launcher, a file manager explorer, a double pane file manager, and a weather applet in addition to most of the usual stuff you get in an lxde panel.

i think one thing they did do wrong on this distro however is not including a compositor out of the box. even something light like xcompmgr or compton. i'm sorry but drop shadows on windows makes such a huge difference visually and a much nicer to use desktop at little expense. there should be a little gui or post install script for such a thing. especially on such a visually slick distro such as this one. flat windows are bullshit.
