Hi everyone. I am a seasoned *nix fundi dating back to when dinosaurs roamed computer basements in large buildings. Today I take photos and do design work. And of course, I run Linux at home. I often download and test new, interesting or different distros.
I had looked at Pinguy before, but currently have 12.04 in a VM. Lots of eye candy and easy to use. I don't much care for the extra addons in Firefox - AdBlock is a must way ahead of the others that are thrown in! I found that updates were broken (would hang trying to reach the defunct medibuntu repos) and in the end a massive hit on bandwidth - close on 1GB (on top of a 1.9GB iso image), which puts Pinguy at the heavy end of data hungry to set up completely. But it is one of the nicest distros aside from Mint which this is based on if I read correctly.
