Can't get connected to internet during install.

I'm attempting to install Pinguy 14.04 and it won't recognize my IP even though I'm connected with an ethernet cable to my CenturyLink Modem/router combo unit. (Zysyx)

I talked to a CenturyLink Technician and she didn't even know what Linux, Pinguy or Ubuntu even was.

What do I do to get around this so I can install the OS?

Please Help!
