I've been a happy Pinguy user for a few years, and usually don't have much trouble with it at all. In the last few days, however, most of the time when I go to log on, I'll enter my password and click the log on button, things seem to go normally, then it looks like X will crash and restart itself and pop me back to the graphical logon screen. Sometimes, I'll log on and get to a desktop, then after a few seconds and a couple startup apps open up, X will crash and I'll get bumped back to the logon screen.
It's not happening every time. I'm on right now just fine. Sometimes I try to log on again and all will be fine. Sometimes it requires a reboot. Sometimes it doesn't work even after a reboot. I have not updated anything related to X recently. The timing seems to coincide with another issue, though, because my shell extensions are not "sticking" through log outs. I have to re-enable them each time. The issues may not be related in anything other than timing, but I don't know.
Any thoughts? Thanks all.
