Laptop fan constantly running on Pinguy OS 14.04

I'm on the 64 bit edition of Pinguy OS 14.04.3. One persistent problem I'm having is the fan constantly running.

I don't think it's a driver problem. I checked the Additional Drivers utility and I'm not running proprietary drivers. Nor are there proprietary drivers available.
