Due to recent changes with the Repo (Steam) and the flood of issues people are having with gnome extensions I decided to do one last version of PinguyOS 13.10.
This will be more or less what the 14.04 LTS final will be like.
Changes made:
Trim is enabled by default for SSDs that have trim support. Devices that don't nothing will happen. If you have a supported drive trim will run once a day as a cron job and also run on boot as a init.d startup script.
I have also replaced GDM with MDM. Doing this has fixed the gnome extensions issue.
I have also included Synapse. This is a GnomeDO replacement.
The only downfall of using MDM is now you need to enter a user name for the live session. It doesn't automatically login.
The login is:
Username: guest
Password:
The user name is case sensitive so make sure all the letters are lower case. The password is just blank. You don't enter anything for the password.
