I performed a dist-upgrade (software sources still pointing at 'precise' repos, fyi) with some 300+ packages, checked to make sure nothing critical was being removed and then went through with it.
Well, sometime later the WLAN stopped working. I rebooted and the problems continued, so I recompiled my wlan driver loaded it via modprobe and still no wlan, and furthermore I was getting warnings about sound devices not working.
Pulseaudio doesnt list my onboard sound (Realtek) or discrete sound card (Xonar DG)
ifconfig and nm-applet dont see my wlan adapter
Rebooted into an older kernel and compositing doesnt work
Checked /var/log/messages and dmesg and it has a lot of stuff in it. I can't really pinpoint anything that I could really look up to see what went wrong.
Does anyone know any particular components of a 12.04 upgrade that might cause hardware devices not to work?
