I Now have Pinguy Persistent, But It Freezes

I used the Universal USB Installer to make Pinguy 14.04 persistent, but now I have issues with it freezing. Pinguy ran very smoothly without persistence. Is there a reason it is freezing? Perhaps too much drive space for persistence?

Memory/RAM: 1 GB
Processor: AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core Processor
16 GB Flash Drive
